Issue Positions

  • "The Supreme Court has ruled this is a states’ right issue. If elected to the U.S. House, I will not vote in favor of any federal law concerning any aspect of abortion (pro, anti, or anywhere in between). It is the right of New Hampshire citizens to decide this issue for them. I will respect the right of the people of New Hampshire to vote on it through their representative government." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "Dems lie about NH abortion laws all the time. Women have legal access up to 24 weeks. Most of the granite staters support this current law. My 2 Dem opponents in #NH02 making this as their top issue, even though it is a state issue, people in NH have decided on this through their representatives, but Dems don't respect "democracy"." (x.com)
  • "I endorse Trump's policy on abortion." (x.com)

  • "Social Security and Medicare are programs our seniors have paid into their whole working lives. Seniors can count on me to fight for them and protect those earned benefits. We must strengthen the protections of these benefits by severely limiting Federal Government borrowing from the Social Security Trust Fund. Social Security is not a political slush fund; this is money the Federal Government should not play with." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "Americans are taxed too much already. Lower taxes & fewer regulations will benefit our economic growth & job creation. We must unleash true market competition, allow the entrepreneurs to thrive." (x.com)
  • "Warren is a typical socialist politician. Demonizing rich people who create wealth & jobs, install hatred & envy, using government power to tax & regulate, even sue the most productive businessmen. I know socialists/communists talking points & tactics growing up in Mao's China." (x.com)
  • "We need more MAKERS, less TAKERS. The world will be a lot better place for human flourishing. Unfortunately, so many people keep buying the politicians "tax the rich" socialism because they are not educated properly on economics 101 and the real history." (x.com)
  • "The trained #Marists know how to manipulate your emotions to get you to vote & support them, but the results are never what you expect to get. The rich & powerful can afford $30K Gala event while trying to sell you "Tax the Rich". Immigrants like me will never buy it. #AOC" (x.com)

  • "High inflation is the top issue for the voters in #NH02. It is caused by bad federal policies - too much money printing, out of control deficit spending, waste and unnecessary regulations. We must stop run-away inflation and the mortgaging of our children’s future." (x.com)
  • "Instead of pushing for public-private partnerships and regulations that seem only to end up helping politically connected big players, I will endeavor to remove subsidies and red tape for all businesses, large and small, unleashing true market competition. We must allow the free market to thrive. Only then do job growth and real prosperity naturally follow." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "Lastly, plain and simple, the government must reduce its spending; we must grow the economy and start paying down the national debt. Our children and grandchildren will thank us." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "We are all paying for that through high inflation, high interest rates and mortgage rates. Time to cut down spending." (x.com)
  • "High demands vs. low supplies, inflation, high interest & mortgage rates, over regulations & zoning laws all contribute to expensive housing for renters & buyers. Millions of illegals also add to the demand. We need to cut down deficit spending, stop borrowing/printing money, reduce inflation, bring down mortgage rate, cut regulations & lose up zoning laws, so more homes can be built to meet the demand. " (x.com)
  • "Nothing is free in China, even today. Free stuff is just a tactic to get you to buy into communism/socialism, make you dependent on government, then they control your food, housing, healthcare, money, schooling, speech, family, travel, track you everywhere & totally disarm you." (x.com)

  • "I agree. Democrats in DC have lost common sense and no longer represent the middle class. It uses IRS to take away more from the hardworking families who are already suffering from the high inflation & call this Inflation Reduction Act. Shameful and laughable." (x.com)
  • "People complain about the #inflation, but they blame companies instead of the government policies that caused it." (x.com)
  • "Top-down government mandates on climate hurt economy, increase energy costs, drive up inflation." (x.com)
  • "#SCOTUS ruling is correct: Biden does not have the constitutional authority to forgive #StudentLoanDebt. Joe should not be forced to pay off Jim's student loan. It is Jim's responsibility to know the terms & conditions, pay that off or choose not to take on so much debt." (x.com)
  • "Tell me again why Joe should pay off Jim's student loan debt? If you take a loan, it is your responsibility to pay it off. Politicians do what they are good at: buying votes by using taxpayers’ money." (x.com)
  • "HR 1 passed by House Democrats want to ban voters ID law in 29 states to secure their control for years. Contact your US Senators to vote NO. #voterID" (x.com)
  • "You need an I.D. to buy alcohol, open a bank acct, get a job, buy a gun, get a jab, fly, buy cigarettes, purchase a house, drive a car, etc. Remind me again why voter I.D. laws are racist? Democratic Party has become a party of No Common Sense. #VoterID #VoterSuppresion" (x.com)

  • "We must declare energy freedom and allow access, with appropriate mechanisms to control pollution, to all of our available resources: nuclear, oil, solar, coal, and wind. We should not be in an either/or political fight amongst ourselves on which energy sources to promote. Artificial energy restrictions not only do not make sense for national security (dependence on other countries), but it further divides and impoverishes the country." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "time to increase energy production in our country now instead of buying and relying on foreign oil, tapping our oil reserves. Practice common sense, not partisan politics." (x.com)
  • "China & Russia are working on a deal over a planned gas pipeline the Kremlin wants to build from Siberia to China, while Biden on his 1st day in White House shutdown Keystone XL Pipeline to carry crude from Canada’s oil sands to the US Midwest, then to beg for more foreign oil from unfriendly countries toward the US." • "I am a strong supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights. I support a national constitutional carry law. I will work for the repeal of all unconstitutional gun control laws, including gun-free zones, which only incentivize criminals with defenseless prey." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "We are not vigorously enforcing the gun laws we already have because it is obvious that criminals don’t seem to be obeying the law anyway. Law-abiding citizens don’t need any more hoops to jump through to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. Further restrictions on "guns" should not be used as excuses to control the law-abiding." • "Border security is essential for our national security. We need to secure the border, enforce current laws, build necessary barriers to stop drug smuggling and human trafficking and prevent people who want to harm us from entering our country. Without a border, we no longer have a country." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "Close our border now. No more dangerous illegals sneak in." (x.com)
  • "Mass illegal migration is a part of UN plan to destroy us. We need to secure our border now." (x.com)
  • "Secure our border now. We can't afford any more socialists in our country." (x.com)
  • "Because legal immigration has become inextricably linked to illegal immigration, we must recognize that our legal immigration system needs reform. To streamline the process and encourage people only to come here legally, those who insist on crossing the border illegally should be detained, identified, and sent back." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "He should halt the gov. checks & housing assistance to illegals to urge mass self-deportation, detain, arrest & deport all the illegal criminals immediately." (x.com)
  • "If Biden really wants to fix the border crisis, he should stop funding for all the sanctuary cities, halt all of the government payments and housing assistance to illegals to urge self-deportation, then detain, arrest and deport all the illegal criminals immediately." (x.com)
  • "Thus, the practice of crossing our borders illegally, then immediately claiming sanctuary to somehow sanitize coming here illegally, must end; no more catch and release." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "I believe in peace through strength, having a strong and non-political military, and pursuing American interests first. In dealing with international conflicts, we must be unified and consistent in seeking diplomatic, economic, and technological solutions whenever possible." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "The US and the free world must call for Jimmy Lai's release, stop the political prosecution of pro-democracy activists, sanction the officials in Hong Kong and Mainland who are involved." (x.com)
  • "Watch the video, it was terrifying. I hope Trump administration will bring up this human right issue at the negotiation table with China. Human Rights Day: It’s time for global sanctions on China to end the Uyghur human rights crisis" (x.com)
  • "I believe in peace through strength, having a strong and non-political military, and pursuing American interests first. In dealing with international conflicts, we must be unified and consistent in seeking diplomatic, economic, and technological solutions whenever possible." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "I hope #USSenate will not pass this irresponsible bill. I would urge #Peace talks between Russia & Ukraine." (x.com)
  • "This war had no benefits to both countries and people. US taxpayers are footing the bill $100B & more. Time to have peace negotiations & stop the escalation of bigger war." (x.com)
  • "When I get elected to the congress, I will only wave my country's flag. This is shocking to see how much Dems love Ukraine. Do they know how we pay for that since we have over $34 Trillion national debt? Borrow from China or print this money? How high will our inflation go?" (x.com)
  • "Great questions. I have been warning about all of the above as someone born & raised in China, but why now just go after TikTok? Why does the House bill give lots of power to the President & AG? Why not just have a simple & clean bill on TikTok? We need to be more cautious." (x.com)
  • "I know personally how bad CCP is, I have been warning the public about #TikTok and other Chinese apps, but this is not a clean bill about TikTok. I have read the entire H.R.7521 passed by the US House. Remember the devils are in the details, we can't simply trust the "sounds good" intensions. This is a bad bill giving too much power to the US President and Attorney General. I wonder who drafted this bill. US Senate should not pass it. In the name of national security, our own government could use and abuse this new power to ban other apps, threatens our free speech. There are better ways to protect users and protect minors. We should continue to have national conversations about TikTok and other apps, companies that infringe our free speech and data privacy." (x.com)
  • "People have to speak freely to think freely. We must exchange ideas and communicate with each other to get to the truth and arrive at mutually agreeable solutions to problems we face as a country. When others wish to control speech, they want to control thoughts, and keep those they wish to control from knowing the truth. Freedom of speech is meant to protect the listener first! Censorship exercised by collusion between government and big tech or the media is immoral and dangerous." (www.lilytangwilliams.com)
  • "This is a bad bill giving too much power to the US President and AG. US Senate should not pass it. I know personally how bad CCP is, but this is not a clean bill about just TikTok. In the name of national security, our own government could use this law to ban other apps." (x.com)
This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Morally, I am pro-life. This is a difficult issue because there are two lives, the mother's and her baby's, and they both have rights. As a Libertarian who believes in self-ownership and self-responsibility, I am hesitant to use force against women who choose abortion early in their pregnancy, thus using force to deny them their right to privacy and self-determination. A woman without freedom to choose is a form of servitude since she would be forced to care for the baby. At viability, however, the role of government acting on our society's behalf in protecting unborn life is justified.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
I believe our Federal government is out of control with respect to spending, debt, and taxation. I support a "Balanced Budget Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution; the budget should be balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes. I would like to repeal all Federal government programs and services that are not authorized by the Constitution. The Federal government should not incur debt, which misallocates resources in the short run and burdens future generations without their consent in the long run. I will not vote for any debt limit increase.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
We do not give up our free speech rights when we form into groups. This included churches, businesses, unions, non-profits, etc. Churches, for example, should not be afraid of loosing tax exempt status if they speak out politically. The right of association and of political speech is fundamental. To regulate who gets to spend money, how much they spend, when, and where spending on speech is done, is a very powerful and dangerous form of control on speech itself.
No Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
No Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
I am reluctant to support capital punishment precisely because our society has executed too many innocent people. Most drug offenses are civil in nature and are victim-less. Because individuals own their own bodies and have rights over them that other individuals, groups, and governments should not violate, I believe many drug laws are unconstitutional. Previous generations knew this, which is why alcohol prohibition (Volstead Act) required a constitutional amendment. Just like today, prohibition creates crime. Did you know that Al Capone is estimated to have made $60 million in alcohol sales in just 1927 alone? ($800 million in 2016 dollars)
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation is nothing more than paying people to dig holes and then to fill them up again. Money used for this purpose must first come from somewhere else, usually from people who did something useful. Force by the government to tax is a disincentive on those taxed and has unintended consequences that ultimately hurts the economy.
No Do you generally support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I am not opposed to voluntary standards, but I am opposed to Common Core, a "top-down one-size" fits all architecture. The Common Core State Standards Initiative (Common Core) is a way for special interests via the Federal government to control education. We have been trying to fix education for more than a hundred years. What we really need is competition in our existing public schools and choices in education including more private and alternative schools. If you want to see massive advances in education, don't federalize the dull sclerotic paradigm we have been using these last hundred years, unleash it.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
The oil and gas industry in Colorado provides almost 100,000 jobs. With the use of modern technology and clear awareness, companies who engage in fracking can extract gas and oil responsibly. I am against unnecessary policies that hurt the poor the most, killing jobs and raising energy prices. I am for all forms of energy production. I am against subsidizing energy schemes. I would promote a free market in energy production. I know that pollution must be controlled. We need to hold polluters responsible, including government agencies.
Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
More scientific research is needed. The largest greenhouse gas is water vapor; this is not mentioned very often, but water contributes to 95% of all greenhouse gasses. There are other gasses too, such as methane. It is not clear to me that the amount of man made CO2 (3% of all greenhouse gasses) makes any difference worth worrying about. Mankind contributes slightly to greenhouse gas concentrations through activities such as farming, manufacturing, power generation, and transportation. Compared to emissions from natural sources there is little we can do without expending huge sums of money to limit what we do produce.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I am a firm supporter of a citizen's right to keep and bear arms. When I first held my gun in my hands, I felt empowered and free. If elected, I will sponsor legislation to repeal all gun control laws. I am opposed to any "Gun Free Zones" which I believe are targets too easy for criminals to exercise their dominance. I support school districts that choose to train and enable their teachers to arm themselves.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
As recently as the 1960s, low-cost health insurance was available to virtually everyone in America - including people with existing medical problems. Doctors made house calls. A hospital stay cost only a few days' pay. Charity hospitals were available to take care of families who could not afford to pay for healthcare. (LP.org) The Affordable Care Act is another step towards socialist health care. I lived under socialist medicine for 24 years and it did not work: long waiting lines, poor quality, no incentives for the providers, and corruption.
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I am a legal immigrant who has come to America to be free. Other freedom-loving people want to come here too, but we need to reform the current broken system where legal immigrants must wait sometimes for over a decade, while other immigrants can enter illegally ahead of them. If elected I would propose a points based system (like used in Canada) for immigration instead of the system we now have, to incentivize people to come here legally and quickly to take jobs that the free market offers.
Yes Do you support same-sex marriage?
Government does now have limited authority to define, license, or restrict types of personal relationships. However, consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships. Marriage is an arrangement in law but also the Church or other entities. These organizations and Government should not mandate who a Church will or will not marry.
No Do you support increased American intervention in Iraq and Syria beyond air support?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
I would support use of force if we knew that these countries were planning to use them against us if they got them. This is a decision that must be made jointly by the legislative and the executive branches, not unilaterally by the executive branch. Only Congress has the Constitutional authority to declare and fund war.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
I would support allowing people under age 30 to divert all their Social Security Taxes into personal retirement accounts as long as we make provisions for the poorest and most unfortunate among us to be cared for.

I oppose forcing employers to withhold wages and serving as income tax collectors for the government. All citizens are entitled to the fruits of their labor and it belongs to them first. If feasible, I propose replacing income taxes with a consumption tax and repeal of the 16th amendment. Until then, I support a simple 10% flat personal income tax and 10% business tax that would unleash the economy for job growth and investment.
1. Balance the budget 2. Pay down the national debt by cuts in spending and growing the economy 3. Abolish the Department of Education, end Common Core 4. Abolish unconstitutional surveillance on U.S. citizens 5. End all corporate subsidies
